Suicidal tendencies in today's children.

In today's paper again I read about the suicide of another school kid.Again the same old story of the boy [or girl ] committing suicide after a scolding from the father.I fail to understand what is wrong with these kids ,I mean we were also kids and we got a lot more than just scolding but somehow the option for suicide was just not there no matter what.I mean that's what being a kid meant.So are today's kids no longer kids?Or is something really really
wrong with us now.I have two boys one aged seven and the other about three and  I live in constant fear of what
will happen when they reach that vulnerable age,
